Haniwa are clay figures made in Japan around the Kofun period. They were used for burial rituals and later as part of the retaining wall of the burial mound.
I actually made one in a college sculpture class as a culture project, so I was excited to see this. It's $25 including shipping, and I've never seen another like it. I love HK and her pals and I would model my house after Hello Kitty Castle, but that would cost a pretty penny. This quaint mix of new and old is too unique to pass up. I have to have it.
