Inspirational Kimono Chocolates

These cuties make me want to throw a tea party. A kimono, matcha, and fresh cut flowers tea party. Their beauty almost makes them inedible, but alas, they are chocolate. Mmm kawaii shokora. Chocolat Moderne $36 for 6 oz.. yikes. Oh, but they'd be too cute on my sushi plates!
They remind me of this kimono inspired house coat/ short evening dress I've been wanting to make for a long time. More loose and ornate for a house coat- think of 40's/ 50's "brunch coat" only shorter, not a bath robe. I have this vision of sea foam green silk layers under golden brocade with long draping sleeves and a cute short skirt (not to skanky with some leggings..) For around the house, not really to go out in.. Or single layered light fabric with regular 3/4 sleeves for a simple evening dress. This sketch isn't quite what I have in mind. I'm having a hard time putting it down on paper, so I'll probably have a harder time putting it together...

Neither have the traditional pants underneath, I've opted to give them more western hip curves with skirts that billow out of the front and back panels of the dress. The red and gray one really only borrows the collar and sleeves that resemble early styles of ao dai. The collarless design of the white one was actually popular in the late 50's, and the short bunched sleeves keep the whole thing light and summery. I'm going to need to go do some studying at JoAnn's to learn some fabric names.. I think I need one of their classes on sewing machines, too. I love my Husqvarna Viking but I have to get out the manual just to thread it.
